My CD Collection is Weeping

Sunday, October 31st, 2010

Something must be done! I declare a new blog project.

I want to start listening to the old CD’s again, those plastic thingies that used to be my pride and joy (they were especially useful when trying to impress boys).

Now they just sit there collecting dust (good thing I don’t have to impress boys anymore) (edit: good thing I have new ways of impressing boys).

So… I will  pull them from their comfortable place on the shelves one by one, listen, and hopefully get inspired to draw something just for them. A thank you gift of sorts.*

It will also be really nice if a personal memory jumps to your mind and you feel like sharing in the comments. You know how music throws you to different times + places.

One more request: could you help me find a really good name for this project?

* it’s actually a continuation of my final project from Bezalel , which I had a lot of fun doing.

This ↑ drawing is an old one, but relevant. The arrow points at the first CD I ever bought, David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust. I still remember very clearly my absolute a-m-a-z-e-m-e-n-t while listening to the album’s opening track:

Shutdown

At times when a lot of things happen in my life and action is needed, my brain kind of rebels against it and shuts down. The poor thing just wants to sleep.

Worry Runs in the Family

Every time I see my parents I have to convince them that everything is OK.

But I don’t think they ever believe it.

Got home this morning after a night out. Took a Shower before going to bed and heard from across the wall the neighbor stirring his morning coffee (AH! such a glamorous life :)

Instead of Work

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

I did this ↑ very absent-minded-ly while watching The September Issue for the 5th time, instead of actually *working* this morning (my eyes were glued to the screen, not my fault).

But wait! Before getting back to the real world so abruptly, here’s a song from the soundtrack that also goes well with this image: LADYTRON Destroy Everything You Touch (this song has aged surprisingly well, don’t you think?).
