Little Child

Monday, October 1st, 2012

Sorry for not posting as much lately. Haven’t had much time to work with the holidays and all that. These are supposed to be days of rest, but with a little child, it all changes.

This little child above is an old one, from The Ruby Wood Project, which comes back to life now and makes me happy for it. Hope you’re all doing well…

Ego Shit

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Still dealing with the aftermath of the Pecha-Kucha night. I got a bit obsessed with the bad review and nasty comments we got, but I’m feeling better now. “What doesn’t kill you…” etc.

So to lift the spirit around here, while complimenting the painting above ↓ Bizzare Love Triangle // New Order ↓

Feeling Kind of Weird

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

Feeling kind of weird after the Pecha-Kucha performance yesterday.

The before and the during were so much fun, but the after – a little sour, because this morning we got a really (really) bad review from the City Mouse critic. It’s OK though.

This was such a positive experience, that even a bad review can’t ruin it.

I learned so many new things in the process, and it was the first time in my life I felt comfortable in front of so many people.

That’s it, back to reality :)

Just a Reminder

Monday, February 7th, 2011

Just a reminder about the Pecha-Kucha night coming in two days.

Yes, I realize it’s so not cool how I only blog about this lately, and that I’m supposed to at least try to keep a cool appearance, but I think all the hard work wore off my nonchalance.

What can I do, I’ve been consumed! Hope you understand my excitement though :)

This beautiful video was made by Jewboy, who will also perform on Wednesday night.

Ruby Wood on the Road

Monday, January 31st, 2011

(A frame from our movie. I’m on the left and Kinneret on the right)

Now I can finally tell you what kept me so busy lately: my friend Kinneret, me and our Ruby Wood Project are going to be part of the upcoming Pecha Kucha night in Tel-Aviv. Hooray!

We’re going to show a movie we made (actually it’s still in the making), where we talk about our work together: how it started, where it’s going and what it means to us. Meanwhile on stage, we plan to do a live-drawing session. In our heads it’s cool, I hope it will be OK.

Sharing the stage with us on that evening will be comic book artist Rutu Modan, poster and graffiti artists Broken Fingaz and more creative people doing intersting things.

The event will take place on the evening of February 9th, in Hanger 11 at the Tel-Aviv Port. More details HERE (from experience, the tickets tend to be sold out in 10 minutes or something, so if you’re planning on going you have to be fast).

But now really, the most important question is: what the #$*% do we wear?

A Peaceful Weekend

New work from the Ruby Wood Project. Good news regarding this project soon.

In the meantime, I wish everyone a peaceful weekend…

Self-Mocking Self-Portrait

Friday, December 24th, 2010

When I started working on this drawing I was a little under the influence of French designer / illustrator Antoine cake, but the need to avoid the risk of being too influenced, led me in a weird direction. Anyway, Antoine is quite wonderful, check out his drawings here.

The Match pt.2

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

Another version for this drawing, this time based on figures from an ancient Greek vase.

I’ve been meaning to draw this for a while now, but even after completion, I still feel it’s not quite there. It’s very frustrating knowing you’re not giving your work all the time it needs. Sometimes I think it’s OK and all part of the process, but sometimes it’s just discouraging.

So you can maybe read this drawing also as Man vs. Time (and I think Man is losing :)
