Sylvia, can you read my mind?

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

“I have the choice of being constantly active and happy or introspectively passive and sad.

Or I can go mad by ricocheting in between.” (From Sylvia Plath’s diary)

And a gorgeous Lou Reed song about another Sylvia…

Out of the Woods

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

This is my latest work for the Ruby Wood Project. It looks to me like a twisted version of those signs people hang in their homes, like Home Sweet Home, and other cliches.

It makes me want to do an embroidered version, and then frame it in thick brown wood.

Personality pt.2

And here’s ↓ some teenage angst just for fun: ‘Confessions’ by The Violent Femmes, live.

Personality pt.1

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Recent events made me think about how certain people have trouble accepting certain aspects of my personality. This led me to think of masks and of changing your personality according to the person you’re with. I never thought I would do something so untruthful.

The Ruby Exhibition

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

This weekend Kinneret Lourie and I exhibit the progress of our Ruby Wood Project for the first time, and it would be great if you stopped by to see it. Take a look at all the posts I wrote about it to decide if this interests you – here.

The small exhibition will be hung in the studio on the 2nd floor of Alfasi street 20, Tel-Aviv. All of the studios in the building will be open all weekend as part of the “Houses from the Inside” event. We will be there from 10:00 to 18:00 (or so), on Friday and Saturday.

Click here to see where the hell is Alfasi st. (hint = Florentine).

Excellence at Any Cost

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Another image from the Ruby Wood Project. Kinneret and me are arranging a small exhibition of selected works from this project next weekend. I will give you more details soon. Would love it if you stop by, those of you in Tel-Aviv.

Other than that, I’m working hard on an editorial illustration for a super-cool publication. I’m so stressed about it, so expect a slow posting rate for the next few days.
