Closing Time (the Last Post)

Tuesday, March 12th, 2013

KerenTaggar-8

So the time has come to officially close this drawing blog project.

It went on for 3 years, capturing a spectrum of emotions and unbelievable things.

I want to thank you so much for being interested and making me get up every day and draw. It’s been the backbone of my life for so long, longer than I ever thought possible.

To celebrate this project’s end (and the beginning of new ones), I exhibited 100 drawings on the walls of the Alfred Gallery in Tel-Aviv. My first, and hopefully not last ,gallery show.

Here are some images from the space, photographed by Ariel Caine.

The good news are, I already have a new blog (yes, it’s addictive).

It’s different than this one, free-er, I think. Please please please check it out. It’s in Hebrew, but I’m sure Google Translate can do a good job at translating my simple words.

So thank you again. It’s been a pleasure, really.

New Year Announcement

Monday, December 31st, 2012

newyear

Hi everyone!

I haven’t been updating regularly for awhile, but with good reason. I’m working hard on putting together an exhibition of the work I’ve done for this blog from the last three years.

It will be up somwhere around the end of January at the Alfred gallery in Tel-Aviv

It’s amazing that I did this for so long, the first post was published on January 16th 2010!

More than 500 posts later, I can’t even start to describe what working on this project did for me personally and artistically, it’s pretty amazing.

This isn’t the end of the blog, but maybe the start of the end (which will definitely be the start of something else).

Anyway… I feel like this needs some kind of summary before and if I continue on, and that’s what my show is for. Also it will be an opportunity to hopefully meet some of you who’ve been kind enough to be interested in what I do and the stupid things I say.

I’m gonna post an official invitation as soon as I have it.

Other than that: HAPPY NEW YEAR and all. I wish you a beautiful new year and the ability to see all that beauty.

My Father – the Sixties

fatherToday is my father’s birthday. I love this photograph so much, I want to get into it and fall asleep in a corner (I uploaded an extra-large version for you to see the small details).

A Chance to Relax

Friday, November 30th, 2012

(An old drawing of Lucy)

Sorry for not updating as much, I’ve been so busy lately. Actually working on a blog-related thing I will let you know about soon. Have a great weekend, try to rest…

Back to Normal (not really)

Monday, November 26th, 2012

Since we last met another war has ended.

I’m so sick of it already, especially with the way we all so easily pick up our lives and continue on like nothing has happened. We’re such good obedient soldiers, eh, citizens.

This building is on Ben-Gurion boulevard, where I practice yoga. This is a safe haven.

Peace Please

Tough weekend here. Hope everyone’s safe and sound.

Safe Inside

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

Safe inside the house, infront of the TV set, not looking, just listening, drawing pillows.

Arlozorov St. Building

Saturday, November 10th, 2012

This will be the first in a series, I think, portraying humble buildings in Tel-Aviv.

This is based on a building on Arlozorov st., near where I live, but I added 2 floors to it.

Unfinished

These days I start a lot, but finish nothing.
